Here in the sunshine state, we love the Sun. We especially love the sun when we’ve been trapped in inside the past few days due to cold, dreary weather. Sunshine is best experienced with fresh air, and walking along the beach. Of course, there are other peacefully scenarios where the Sun’s rays make the moment all the better. Let’s face the facts, Californians love their sunshine.

Well, most of the time. There are some occasions when we don’t appreciate the Sun. When the Sun shines right into the window of your car as you are driving in the morning or evening, seeing the road can become difficult. When this happens, your ability to drive safely is drastically decreased. The other time the Sun isn’t appreciated is when it’s baking you as you sit in traffic on a summer afternoon...

We love cute, furry creatures. No one can resist the soft innocent, helpless puppies, bunnies, or kittens. Animals appeal to us because of how we can connect with them. It’s that connection that we feel with animals that drives us to try to protect them. Plus, as Americans it’s instilled in us to also fight for the underdogs.

Unfortunately, we have a problem with some animals, specifically with cats and dogs. There’s a problem with too many animals stuck in the shelter. Overcrowding happens within the shelters, which leaves them with no choice but to humanely euthanize the animals. This problem has many animal lovers up in arms and working to help fix the problem...

Everybody wants to graduate. Kids want to graduate from high school. Young adults want to graduate from college. Adults want to graduate from grad school. Even parents want their kids to graduate. Everyone wants to graduate something, and there is one thing that we all can graduate from, and that is high school. If you’re a parent of a kid who is currently in high school, or if you’re a high school dropout, don’t give up hope on graduation.

Having kids in high school can be a daunting task. You have to watch them grow up and make their own decisions. This can be frustrating when they decide to blow off doing homework and other school projects. Luckily being the parent of the family gives you the authority to encourage them to do their work, or else...

Following the rules can seem lame, or uncool at times. However, rules are in place for a reason, and that reason is usually for our own safety. For example, the seatbelt laws in California are in place to protect us. For some reason, there are people who think it’s uncool to wear a seatbelt. They fail to realize that being dead is more uncool. Seatbelt laws in California are as follows according to the California Department of Motorized Vehicles:

California is the sunshine state. Commercials for visiting California make Californians want to vacation in here. Let’s face it, we have a different way of life out here in the golden state. We’re more laid back, but also we’re used to the hustle. We enjoy specialized food shops, sand between our toes, family picnics, and a whole lot of culture. However, our quality of life might not be all that glamorous.

US News & World Report’s stat in their recent study that California is ranked the lowest among the 50 states in one category and that is for quality of life. The factors that determined the overall quality of life are: social environment and natural environment.

California is no stranger to going green. From windmills to solar panels, and paying $0.10 for a plastic bag at the grocery store, California is one of the leaders in going green. At times theses eco-friendly changes may be complicated at first, but they pay off. The more we work together, and come together as a family the better the payoff will be for everyone. By working together on this, we are giving the planet, and ourselves, a chance to live longer.

Whether or not you believe in climate change, there is something to be said about respecting where you live. You don’t trash your parent’s house while you live there and expect to stay. You have to abide by your parent’s rules, and respect their house. It’s just like that, but with the earth...
